About Masa Uehara Design
After working at a topnotch design studio, Masa went
on to spend over ten years in the marketing department of a major corporation
in Sacramento. During this period, she expanded her skills to multimedia and
website technology and started a freelance business out of her home in the
foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Since then, she has quit the Sacramento commute
and now devotes herself full-time to her own business outside Nevada City.
She feels fortunate to have received traditional training and a solid foundation
in design principles at Chico State. This classic training, combined with
her native grounding in the Japanese esthetic, gives her work its distinctive
style.
More recently, she enjoys collaborating with people in small business and
individuals launching, redesigning, and updating their websites. She has been
engaged in the community as a founding member of North Columbia Schoolhouse
Cultural Center and a Zen center, Ring
Of Bone Zendo.
She also does her community services through Sierra
Storytelling Festival, North
San Juan Fire Diestrict, and Food
Bank of Nevada County. One of her favorite places to be in Nevada County
is BriarPatch Coop,
for whom she created the website and did a major graphic design work from
the brochures and the business system to numerous store signs. She is active
in the Gold Country chapter of LeTip International.
